What a weekend for football - GT ran Georgia off the field in the 3rd quarter [seven], Bama absolutely crushed Auburn [six] + the Falcons tried their best to give the game to San Diego but couldn't quite do it. Thanksgiving was nice but I'm starting to look forward to doing things a little bit differently. Definitely not the way that I had planned to spend my t-day weekend but it's an amazing feeling to care for someone so much + have the opportunity to show them how much they mean to you in some small way. Hopefully the worst is behind Brooke now + we'll figure out what this mystery illness is w/n the next day or two...or maybe she'll just get better & we won't have to worry about it anymore. I vote for the 2nd option. I can't wait for this weekend: giving up christmas should be a great experience + there's a little football game at the dome at 4p on saturday that should be somewhat interesting. - roll tide -

Had a great weekend after a rough week, somehow I didn't do anything to celebrate my 2nd favorite holiday of the year but it was worth it. It's great to be back on the right track + feeling confident again. Saturday: tailgating w/ everyone for the GT game Saturday was great [babies everywhere] + the hold steady & dbt let us know that rock n roll means well that night [although I'm not sure that dbt has totally convinced Brooke...yet] - dwight yoakam makes some questionable yet innovative snacks Sunday: took advantage of the time change [boo] by actually getting up early enough to make it to the morning service, cultured it up w/ the atlanta ballet + swan lake that afternoon, then hung out at Manuel's for some trivia and good old-fashioned republican bashing that night [forgetting sarah marshall isn't very good] Monday: two #8's + a leaf catching competition [which I won] @ piedmont was a great way to wrap up the weekend - bama's #1 + obama is our preside...

It's raining - woot woot Yeager's b-party was good times: poker, thunderstorms, old friends, jaeger, rock band, zaxby's, beer pong, etc. - lowkey but nice. Our little mini-vacation to Athens this past weekend was cool - the Hold Steady rocked it as usual and the alcohol was just as cheap as I remembered. A late night drunken Checkers run was just like college [we need to take a crew back to MoonDogs one weekend]. Brooke also got her first taste of the Varsity - I feel like a bad Atlantan [and even worse yellow jacket] for allowing Athens to be her inaugural experience. I got the enviable task of interviewing Mr. Patterson Hood for a Performer article...and he's in Holland - it's just not the same via gmail/blackberry. This weekend brings 'bossman's rowdy river retreat' - a weekend that is sure to go down in our crew's history. Hopefully we all make it back. - wear a life jacket -

I'm pretty good about not sleeping...I didn't even forget to pray or anything - what's up w/ that? I get a full three nights w/ Brooke this weekend + get to see one of my top three bands live in a small venue - tight.

Checking in - last weekend was great: Rockband + SingStar practice at Ginger's Friday night; Yard of Beer 08 Saturday night - 1:17 for 36 oz of beer is pretty good but, as a newcomer, I had the unfortunate position of pace setter...although 53 seconds is nuts [although we did dominate beer pong as a result of Brooke's stone cold ringer abilities]; Sunday was a day of 'fun + faith' as we hit up buckhead church and enjoyed dinner & wii w/ the crew at Eric's place. The weekends are so great that the weekdays pale in comparison but I guess that's the result of dating such an amazing woman that lives an hour away...that and the fact that I desperately need more single male friends. The distance is only going to grow before it decreases though: Brooke has already received calls from Fresno + Monterey CA, Myrtle Beach SC, Milwaukee WI, etc. Last night I was super green - I ran .7 miles to deposit my stimulus check [and get cash] at wachovia, ran 2 to return a mov...

tonight i had dinner alone @ murphy's - that's sort of funny/sad/weird/etc.

man, I can tell it's been a few weeks since I ran more than a couple of miles at a time... Clark, Colorado needs to install some more antennas - I haven't been able to talk to Brooke since Saturday afternoon. That's especially impressive/heartbreaking/pathetic when you realize that I haven't gone more than ~18 hours w/o hearing her voice since we met nearly eight months ago. - 'rosemary's baby' is freaky good - - don't forget to get those father's day cards in the mail!

quick hits! - chuck p's book signings/readings/shows are the best ever! [eg: blow up dolls, ear plugs, 'choke' trailer, autograph hounds, disgusting/funny/beautiful tales, fingers ripped off, etc.] - braves games are fun w/ my dad + josh, even when we spend half the game in the parking lot and the other half discussing the huge differences b/n myself and dad...and then making poor decisions pertaining to what we should do after the loss - i don't like dropping brooke off at the airport [after our customary waffle house visit] early on a saturday morning - esp. when she's leaving for a ranch in colorado [where she has no cell coverage] for ten days... :'( - i had forgotten how lame my sundays as a bachelor are - although i do get a decent amount of stuff done - hopefully this week will fly by b/n giving blood, soccer matches, a possible movie date w/ my boys, softball chances, and whatever else I can find to fill the time [ i don't really think i need any mor...

I suck at this now...quick hit! - work has been nuts but challenging & rewarding and all that stuff - past few weeks have contained monster tailgates, home beer brewing, roofs on chilly fire, some hot cornhole action, horses + fancy people/greeks, hip hop + ballet, a welcome increase in show-goings, beautiful/redneck marriage, missing the epicness and 'ideal most perfect day in the world' that was known as record store day, the fall & rise of fc raramuri, the hawks [expectedly] blowing in the playoffs, and the first six months of what I hope to be a life-long experience tomorrow brings an 8a flight to amish country after a week of pseudo-sickness [I'm still not giving in - we broke that temp quick!], restless/sleepless nights, and [hopefully] the laying of ground work for a very important signature this coming monday observations: - 80's country songs make me happy/sad/remind me of my grandparents - your ability/willingness to stay out on a work night goes a lon...

Ha, I happened to be listening to that song right now & it's the perfect title for this particular blog.
