leavin the game on lucky street

I'm not very good at this thing anymore - I guess at this point I want it to be even more for me [as opposed to whoever else looks at this] than before. 'Personal posts' are most likely going to take on an even more obscure/word association kind of style...for posterity:

v-day weekend: hidden gifts, skin milk, origami, rum, tornado warnings, blackout of '08, too many dvds [macon], sick days, mad dog 20/20, country boy's cookin', clothing carnival, rule/score book, donkey punch, fruit punch, clue, monopoly [thank god for the speed die], aggravation, drunken pictures, little plastic picture corners, documentation of the first night, bible study + tornado sirens, weggies + wings, a lot of candlelight, hungover freelance interview, 'dysfunctional' family dinner, etc.

This past weekend consisted of a benefit show/auction @ lenny's [cancer doesn't care how much life you have left], a free sold-out snowden show via SEP [didn't even have to review it!], pbr + 'hand grenades', naughty jason's deli ice cream, b/n the leg frisbee grabs, 'couples dinner', a horrifying motorcycle accident + not-so-horrifying local horror movie, delicious gato bizco, lori mckenna @ eddies' - wow!!! [I never thought I could fall in love w/ a woman in her mid-40's that has five kids...], an 'ideal sunday evening' @ twains, no country + glan hansard ruling the oscars, making it to work on time enough, an identical pair of no. 8s [empty cups], a lovely word doc, board game + driving range + putting comp humility, radiohead + kanye crews [ticketmaster is what's wrong w/ america], etc.

It was nice to get two shows in three nights...really wanted to head out to the unicorn tonight but I need to learn how to resist - esp. when I've already seen the band...no matter how much fun they may be. The running is coming along well enough, the ING shouldn't be too bad - just wish more of the crew was running it. ASO's still giving me what they can/want to but hopefully the freelance web design gig will become a constant.

FC raramuri still somehow has a chance to move up this season - even after blowing our last match. It'd be nice to get our own team next season if only to be able to trust in more of our teammates and know they're leaving it all out there.

- keep it up -

- have you guys seen that 'moment of truth'? holy crap those people are crazy! I really hope that they're actors b/c I just saw a woman give her marriage away for 25 grand - just to lose it all on the final 100k question [do you think you're a good person?] further proof that money makes people do crazy things - it's like watching a train wreck

So I just found out that my 2nd ex-girlfriend is engaged to be married this summer. Wow, it's crazy how things happen and change so fast. It's also so weird how different people are depending on who they are dating at the time. It sounds like her ideal life though, so that's great. It's not a sad thing or anything, it's just crazy. Ha, I'm not sure what it is about dating me that makes a girl want to get married to the next guy she meets... that's all

this is my home

I've said it before and I'll say it again: atlanta is awesome. I spent the day [from nine to seven] at the inman park festival today...'working'. It's so cool so see such a diverse group of people come together and have some fun. The parade was great, everything from old people dressed up and dancing like they're on bad acid to grady high school's band doing the whole 'black band' drumcore [or whatever the name of that movie was] thing. Of course my signature luck had my allergies kicking my ass all day but I didn't let it ruin the fun too much. After about twenty minutes of lying in bed and a double shot of benadryl [I know it's a histamine blocker] and some rockstar [to counteract the anti-histamine side effect] it's time for dinner and whatever I can get into tonight. All this on less than four hours of sleep. I'm sitting at 44 hours worked this week, not even counting being at the festival tomorrow from 11-7. You know you...
