another week

Another great weekend. I'm usually a bigger fan of weekdays, but lately weekdays just make me feel like I'm wasting my time. At least on the weekends I can try not to worry about the job stuff and just have some fun. Friday night was more fun w/ Katie and Cecille, I'm so happy that Katie moved to atlanta. It's crazy how you assume that you'll never see someone again but as soon as you do it feels weird that they had been gone for so long. Old-school, college style house parties, Marcus drinking straight from a plastic handle of montezuma tequila, the old 'i'm gonna puke' fake, and slip tripman is a guaranteed good night.

Saturday was semi-wasted but redeemed by receiving four free [$320 value] fourth row seats to the Great Gatsby at the Fox. I know that Jennifer, Melissa, and Erin really appreciated it; I was pretty much blown away by how great the tickets were before the show even started. It was so cool to finally see all of my friends 'on the job.' I'm not really a ballet kind of guy but it was fun to see everyone doing such an original, 'modern' performance. I was glad that I was able to go on a night that Courtney was Daisy as well.

Sunday was the kind of day that made me glad that Chris got us all kicked out of dark horse early Saturday night. Softball practice at piedmont was fun, I'm glad I decided to go the coed route, it will be a lot more fun. Ha, I'd rather suck w/ a bunch of girls on my team than w/ all guys. Guys can't have fun and lose but girls + guys might be able to. I love being in the park w/ friends on such a beautiful day, the diversity that you can see in Piedmont on days like that encompasses so much of what I love about Atlanta.

I didn't hear anything back from ASO today. I would hope that they would at least give me a call at some point to let me know one way or the other but that's far from a guarantee these days. I have an interview w/ sony bmg tomorrow so that should be cool, we'll see.

I should be writing these two cd reviews that were 'due' today but it just feels pointless to spend time doing all of this extra stuff when I'm not bringing in a significant amount of money. At least I'm still getting 10-15 hours/week at the shop. Being mostly unemployed is a strange feeling, it's like it starts to get into your head and make you more pathetic and apathetic. It makes you want to just give up and move back in w/ your parents or something. Man, see what the weekdays do to me now? Something's gotta give.

- not having a job is killing me more and more each day...oh the drama!

So I just found out that my 2nd ex-girlfriend is engaged to be married this summer. Wow, it's crazy how things happen and change so fast. It's also so weird how different people are depending on who they are dating at the time. It sounds like her ideal life though, so that's great. It's not a sad thing or anything, it's just crazy. Ha, I'm not sure what it is about dating me that makes a girl want to get married to the next guy she meets... that's all

this is my home

I've said it before and I'll say it again: atlanta is awesome. I spent the day [from nine to seven] at the inman park festival today...'working'. It's so cool so see such a diverse group of people come together and have some fun. The parade was great, everything from old people dressed up and dancing like they're on bad acid to grady high school's band doing the whole 'black band' drumcore [or whatever the name of that movie was] thing. Of course my signature luck had my allergies kicking my ass all day but I didn't let it ruin the fun too much. After about twenty minutes of lying in bed and a double shot of benadryl [I know it's a histamine blocker] and some rockstar [to counteract the anti-histamine side effect] it's time for dinner and whatever I can get into tonight. All this on less than four hours of sleep. I'm sitting at 44 hours worked this week, not even counting being at the festival tomorrow from 11-7. You know you...
