this is my home

I've said it before and I'll say it again: atlanta is awesome. I spent the day [from nine to seven] at the inman park festival today...'working'. It's so cool so see such a diverse group of people come together and have some fun. The parade was great, everything from old people dressed up and dancing like they're on bad acid to grady high school's band doing the whole 'black band' drumcore [or whatever the name of that movie was] thing. Of course my signature luck had my allergies kicking my ass all day but I didn't let it ruin the fun too much. After about twenty minutes of lying in bed and a double shot of benadryl [I know it's a histamine blocker] and some rockstar [to counteract the anti-histamine side effect] it's time for dinner and whatever I can get into tonight. All this on less than four hours of sleep. I'm sitting at 44 hours worked this week, not even counting being at the festival tomorrow from 11-7. You know you...

let's rock & roll

Good weekend - michi's art show at the shop friday night was fun. Anytime you get to get paid for drinking at work until one in the morning is a good time. I suggest that everyone try that out at some point. - saturday night was loca luna w/ a nice crew. I got to hang out w/ josh b/c they were in town 'cutting some tracks' in the studio. We got drunk & wandered around talking to girls. Jake even serenaded these black girls outside of the club [he got a number out of it]. I can't wait until josh lives up here. The whiskey & jello shots [just for you, yeager] got me a little too right though, after I had just told teddy how I hadn't drunk dialed in a while, or even worse, left drunk voicemails [hot tub, anyone?]. Disclaimer: If you are a girl that I know & you read this, don't answer the phone if I call you after midnight unless you want to party &/or make fun of me. - sunday was a nice bike ride around town [little five, edgewood, east at...

oh the humanity

- I've got 18 days, 14 hours, 24 minutes, and 24 seconds worth of music on my ipod. Thank god. - I just finished reading high fidelity [again]. Could I read a history book [politics among nations] for pleasure? We need to learn from our mistakes. - I hope I get to hang out & drink sweetwater while 'working' at the 420 fest tomorrow. Pray for no rain. now we're all dumber.

punks in the beerlight

I put too much time into personal relationships - maintaining, beginning, searching, etc. That's a large part of why I do so many cool, random, freelance jobs/volunteer work [other than the fact that it's a good thing to do]. I could learn to do a lot of cool stuff if I put that time into reading, working out, playing an instrument, drawing/designing, working, studying for the gmat, etc. It's just like if you're not in the top two or three [or one for that matter] friends that a person has, it probably isn't worth putting any extra time into [extra time = time that you put in that they don't]. Everyone knows that you can't totally depend on anyone [other than family for the most part], but you would figure that you sort of get out what you put in. You definitely do in some friendships, but I wouldn't say that that is the rule by any stretch. It's all about getting that number one person that has you as their number one as well and putting time ...

( rest up )

What a great weekend. Palmer and Erin were in town for a wedding so I got to hang out and act stupid w/ them Friday & Saturday night. It's crazy how close Palmer and I are even though I just met her last summer at the film festival. She was only here for the summer too. We're just so similar I guess - weird sense of humor, same interests, always up for anything. It'll be nice when she's back in Atlanta for good. Saturday night we ended up at the clermont, which is always ridiculous. Mrs. Pacman is an all-time classic for a reason, and apparently I'm a lot better at it when I'm wasted. Getting on the whiskey afterwards at my place was a bad call but it was a great night. This weather is so nice. I made it count today - tennis baseball w/ the guys; dogwood festival w/ daya, melissa, and jennifer; and having lindsay & jay join us for dinner at el azteca. I even biked everywhere in between. That's a pretty amazing day, especially considering I ...

holy shit

Pardon my language- I just saw the most ambitious band that I've ever seen play Lenny's tonight. It was like perfomance art + a play + indie rock + an art exhibit. Absolutely amazing! I saw this band put everything they had out there in a place twice the size of my living room for a crowd of no more than 20 people...and for five bucks! The music alone doesn't compare, this was an experience. It was like Jessica [who I am so glad came] said: "it was like a dream." It was just crazy. Their cd comes w/ a graphic novella that plays out in their songs, like acts in a play. It's a group of various creatives [musicians, artists, film makers, dancers, architects, novelists, etc.] : quick facts - bicycle wheels, a guy playing wine glasses, huge projector, 'costume' changes, the singers never broke character, a trash can, hot girl w/ a beautiful voice in a vintage dress, and more. I'm not even going to try to explain it, it was just like nothing else I...

bad timing

[ sometimes when i'm alone, i like to just cuddle ] On a non-nonsense note, tonight james, yeager, alan, and i beat four black kids at basketball on the roof. It was just like hoosiers, well maybe not JUST like, but it was sort of somewhat like it. - never underestimate the power of hustle Oh, they make nestle crunch's w/ caramel in them now

I just don't get it, but it's got to be something. Just leave anonymous comments here's to the time change - more daylight to play
