Not a bad weekend. Friday night was a Thrashers game and then drinking at the top of the Westin w/ jb, bg, and stuart. The game was cool, they're actually playing really well right now and we snuck down to seats a row behind the glass for the third period. The Westin was cool: sweetwater, fruit, and cheese while looking out at an awesome, rotating view of the city. We had to be the only people making under 50 grand a year in the place. Good times.
Saturday was tons of kids at work, football games, and the local w/ my old crew for lindsay's birthday. I love that place - a laid back crowd, foosball, good bar video games, and indie rock...about as good as it gets. We packed into the Majestic for food at 3 in the morning following the bar. That place is always interesting. That could be due to the fact that I only go there early in the morning when every customer in the place is wasted.
Sunday was football with the guys again [fourth game in eight days]. It was alright, nothing special. You can't rely on anyone that says they'll be there to actually show up. Last night was supposed to be going out to celebrate MLK and the day off of work that it brings, but it didn't happen either. It seems like you just can't depend on people to do what they say they're going to do. It's crazy. I don't think I expect too much out of others, but maybe I do. I guess that's just how it is at our age or something. People can't be like that forever...can they? It has nothing to do w/ last night, I just think about that kind of stuff a lot. I know I've got all kinds of stuff wrong w/ me, but I feel like I am at the very least dependable and loyal to my friends.
This week brings work and two interviews. One Wednesday for an id job w/ Electrolux in South Carolina, not sure how that would work out. Thursday for a gd job w/ an advertising firm in Duluth. Ha, I just hope that this stuff that the we've been asked to do for Gerald Wilkins at the t-shirt shop takes off and I can just chill and work intown. I guess we'll see.
DBT this Thurs, Fri, and Sat at the 40 Watt. I just gotta figure out how many shows I want to attend/review and if anyone is cool enough to want to go w/ me. They're the best live band going right now and they're local!
