The homeless census went well. We had a lot more help this year than last. My group had the grant park area, it was pretty cool walking around the park at one in the morning. I have so much respect for anyone that does social work, especially when they get a masters, so many sacrifices on so many levels. It is def. one of the most fulfilling jobs on the planet though. But yeah, we only found three homeless people [ha, it's like we all wanted it to be more or something], but we did find this homeless 'campsite' right off of I-20 in some trees/bushes. It was crazy to see something like that: like ten pairs of shoes hanging from a tree, garbage bags full of aluminum cans, shopping carts, little cleared out spots where they had layed whatever they could find to sleep on. I guess it's just a group of them trying to stick together, hopefully it's not an entire family
Last night I went w/ Josh to Rehab's recording studio near Athens. It was a really nice studio, you could tell they'd put a lot of time and money into it. This band that he's managing was cutting some tracks. It's just fun hanging out w/ a bunch of guys pretty much just like us that are going for it. It's crazy to see all the different equipment and stuff that goes into it. It'd be awesome to be a studio engineer and run pro tools and get the levels right and mix the vocals and rhythm and all that. There's gotta be a few places in Atlanta where they teach that stuff. I'll put that on my list of possible things to try out.
